Description This thesis consists in the preparation of hierarchical materials for composites with multiscale reinforcement, and in the use of such materials in cement and/or polymeric matrices. In order to obtain this reinforcement it will be necessary to functionalize carbon fibers and nanotubes, with the goal to link them chemically, possibly with the creation of nano-onions on the surface of the fibers. The goal is the optimization of the interface between fibers and matrix. The dispersion in cement and/or polymeric matrix will used to produce composites, that will then characterized for their mechanical performance.
