Description The quality of an Internet connection stems from different values such as bandwidth, packet loss, jitter, TCP-related values such as re-transmitted and out-of-order segments, windows size, etc.
This project targets the design and implementation of a framework for measuring the performance of the Eolo network at its edges.
Suitable monitoring tools developed within this thesis will run on hundreds of small devices deployed in different points of our network.
Data collected will be pushed to collectors running in our datacenter and analyzed by means of suitable machine learning techniques.
The analysis of such data will provide a comprehensive assessment of the healthiness of the Eolo network, and offers an estimate of the connection quality as perceived by our clients.
The student will join the Eolo R&D team, and contribute to the Eolo SDN framework.
We are looking for curious and talented students eager to work with new, cutting-edge, technologies.
In particular, the student will have the chance to work directly on our self-made BLU switches and test their own solutions directly on the Eolo SDN network.

Notes - Good knowledge of C, C++ and Python
- Good knowledge of the Internet protocol stack
- Good knowledge of containers technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
