Description Nowadays, a common practice for testing switches and network devices relies on traffic generators (e.g., Ostinato, Spirent), which allow the generation of custom streams of traffic.
While iMIX patters provide the ability to test low-level dataplane processing capabilities, there are no reliable ways for replicating control-plane behaviors.
Indeed, it is rather hard to replicate in a lab production-like behaviors of all the components of BLUos, the operating system running on the Eolo's self-made BLU switches.
The goal of this project is designing and implementing a staging environment for BLUos and retrieve realistic values about how it will perform once deployed in production.
The student will join the Eolo R&D team, and contribute to the Eolo SDN framework.
We are looking for curious and talented students eager to work with new, cutting-edge, technologies.
In particular, the student will have the chance to work directly on our self-made BLU switches and test their own solutions directly on the Eolo SDN network.
Student support is available upon request.
