Description In the context of the research activities of the Internet Media Group within the PIC4SeR center (https://pic4ser.polito.it), we are looking for master thesis students interested in studying and implementing systems to allow real-time communications between robots (drones/rovers) using mobile devices, such as smartphones. The activity will be carried out by extending an Android application which has been already developed in a previous master thesis. In this work it is expected to be able to tightly control communication latency in order to transmit time-sensitive information such as positioning, as well as to eventually develop a simple communication protocol that allows direct communication between the devices even when access point support is missing.
The activity can be carried out without being physically present on a day-to-day basis at the Politecnico. At the end of the development it will be possible, if desired, to experiment with actual robots (either rovers or drones).
