Description Electric mobility seems to be the future of urban transport. In fact, many houses are engaged in the production or design of electric cars. The lack of infrastructure and very long charging times, however, dissuade drivers from buying these types of cars. The thesis aims to analyze the design of an innovative battery management station for electric cars that can replace the exhausted battery and replace it with a charged one. The recharge of the battery will then be carried out at a later time, thus eliminating waiting times for the customer. The developed technology will be analyzed also considering the application in fields different from the automotive one, like railway vehicles, commercial vehicles, agricultural machinery and AGV for the movement of items in manufacturing plants. The idea will also include the standardization of the battery change mechanism regardless of the type of machine considered with a very high reliability in all working conditions.
Depending on the candidate's background, the thesis work will focus on the feasibility and performance analysis, the development of the mechanical technology, or the development of the control and management software.
