Description In the last decades, the Reconfigurable Computing paradigm integration in many different fields of application has seen a sharp increase, due to the unique capabilities it can provides to a computational task. Unfortunately, current reconfigurable systems still require long time to be reconfigured at run-time and the lack of infromation about inner organization is still high.
Thus, a Reconfigurable Multipotent Element (REM) has been contrived with the aim to propose a different reconfigurable computing model to give more flexibility, observability and, above all, to minimize reconfiguration time exploating reconfiguration in distributed manner at the lowest granularity.
A thesis is proposed to further optimize the design of its architecture, to investigate optimal and fault tolerant physical implementations and to develope relevant benchmark application.
