Description The thesis work will be done abroad using the on demand scolarship with expiration on 20/09/2019. The thesis will last 6 months.
The aim of the work is to investigate the possibility to use plants for biofixation - bioremediation - bioaccumulaiton of heavy metals coming from Tailing Dum. The mine site is still active and is used to mining copper in the region of Rancuaga placed south of Santiago. The student will base at the Adolfo Ibanez University and will be followed there by prof. Jacopo Seccatore. The planned activities are: investigation of the history of the site, sampling and characterization of materials that will be treated with the plants, bibliographic evaluation of vegetable species compatible with the phytotreatment under high performance, planning of the activity that will performed on the site.
