Description From a Warehouse 4.0 perspective, warehouses will have to become Cyber-Physical Systems (CBS) where the physical component, composed of infrastructures, products, flows and activities, will be associated with a virtual representation capable of collecting data in real-time and, through models simulation and predictive algorithms, guiding the strategic and operational aspects of warehouse operations. This virtual representation of the physical warehouse is called "Digital Twin" in literature.
The thesis concerns the development of a Digital Twin of an automatic warehouse object of a testbed inside the Polytechnic, financed within the project Department of Excellence of the Ministry of University and Research.
The thesis will consist of a part of scientific literature aimed at understanding the essential aspects of the Digital Twin, and a part of practical implementation of a Digital Twin on Anylogic software support.
