Description Sexism and gender relations in higher education are a topic of great interest in regulations related to education and in strategic plans of the academic Institutions. The low fraction of female students is a peculiarity of the Science, Technology and Engineering programs, and should be addressed to close the gender gap that exists in the technology sector. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the influence of “feminine” and “masculine” competences [1], detected according to the absence or presence of “care” or “provisions” concepts in the curricula proposed at Politecnico di Torino in the different Industrial Engineering programs, on the selection of university studies.
