Thermal and electrical characterization of glass-based sealants for solid oxide technology
keywords GLASS, ENERGY, SOLID OXIDE CELLS
Reference persons MASSIMO SANTARELLI, FEDERICO SMEACETTO
Research Groups AA - Glasses, Ceramics and Composites, steps-denerg
Thesis type SPERIMENTALE
Description Section 1: "Thermal"
Task: Start with 2-3 new glass compositions (compositions already formulated) in terms of thermal and compatibility analysis. Compatibility with Crofer22APU
Outcome: Filter 2 most promising compositions
Duration: 1,5- 2 months max
Section 2: "Electrical"
Task: Effect of different voltages (we can select 2-3 voltages i.e. 0.7 (SOFC), 1.6 (approx. SOEC), and might be >2.0 V to ensure much harsh conditions) on behavior of two most promising sealants (500 hours max at each voltage)
Outcome: voltage effect on electrical resistivity, microstructure, porosity (to be done @ DISAT), etc.
Duration: 2 months
Deadline 23/09/2021
