Description The aim of this thesis is the preparation of cement-based composites containing rubber obtained from the recycle of waste tyres. The work will be part of an ongoing research and consists in the study of the optimum mix of cement-aggregates-additives, and of the functionalization of the rubber in order to maximise the mechanical performance of the material. The characterization will establish the physical and mechanical properties of the obtained materials, together with an evaluation of the cost and of the environmental impact.
