Description The texture analysis is a common technique widely used in the pharmaceutical industry to characterize the mechanical properties via the application of a force on a specimen, recording the compression and penetration resistance offered by the sample. This technique provides critical information on the material texture and its behaviour under stress conditions of production, handling and transportation.
Despite its use in routine for solid dosage forms and gels, the technique is almost unexplored for freeze-dried cakes and injection force from single use device testing.
In the framework of vaccine products, this stage aims to deepen the knowledge of the mechanical forces undergone by the primary packaging components (i.e. gliding and break-off forces in the glass syringes) and the connection to transport stresses and device handling during patient injection.
In this context, you will develop a robust method to perform texture analysis test on single use syringes for injection and an automated data elaboration to support the routine test.
