Description Theoretical study of magneto-hydro-dynamic (MHD) equilibria of magnetically confined fusion plasmas acoording to the tokamak scheme. The study is preliminary to the analysis of the MHD stability of these equilibria for axisymmetric perturbations that are resonant at magnetic X-points. The thesis is intended to generalize the equilibrium obtained in the article by Porcelli&Yolbarsop, "Analytic equilibrium of "straight tokamak" plasma bounded by a magnetic separatrix", published on the international scientific journal "The Physics of Plasmas" in 2019 and here attached. For this thesis, tutoring by Tommaso Barberis, PhD student in Physics at the Polytechnic University of Turin, will be available.
