Water resources from snow and ice melting
Reference persons STEFANIA TAMEA
Description The flow rate of many rivers depends on the accumulation and melting of snow and on the presence of glaciers in mountain areas. Climate change can alter the accumulation and melting processes, changing the flow rates and the availability of freshwater resources in time. The proposed topic includes the analysis and the modeling of water resources dependent on snow/ice melting, possibly referring also to adaptation strategies. The thesis may be based on field measurements, data analysis, hydrological modeling, and use of satellite data.
