Description The European Green Deal promotes ecological transition by fostering the principles of the Circular Economy in the construction industry, as the strategic sector to achieve climate neutrality. The reduction of energy consumption, related climate-altering gas emissions, and more rational use of resources represent the main actions to sustainable development. In this regard, the paradigm shift can be facilitated through IoT technologies, as tools to improve building process efficiency, improve information sharing among stakeholders, and rethink how we interact with the Smart Building. Starting from these premises, the Master Degree Thesis aims to investigate the role of IoT innovative solutions in the Smart Building domain with a specific focus on Radio Frequency Identification (RFId) technologies. Nowadays, the growing needed to data in the construction sector promotes the development of intelligent building components able to share information during their service life. Specifically, the thesis aims to prototype an RFID tag that can be integrated into an innovative façade system and develop a web-based interface for data management.

During the thesis, it will be possible to deal with designers and researchers specialized in the design of facade systems. The thesis will be developed in collaboration with the Department of Architecture and Design.
