Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL AND MODELING

Description The thesis activity will involve working along with the Functional Applied Biomechanics Laboratory (FABiL) research group, for the prototype development of a hand-held perturbation device for the human upright position equilibrium analysis. The device aims to provide on the patient’s body a well-defined and repeatable force impulse, for diagnostics and biomechanical analysis purposes. The thesis will focus on the refinement of the controlling part of the current system, involving the following points:
• Analysis of the current prototype (see attachment), research on the state of the art, and selection of a proper microcontroller, taking into account the various strengths and weaknesses of the choice;
• Current software re-elaboration and testing, from the PC-simulated overall model (Model-In-The-Loop), to the final implementation (Hardware-In-The-Loop and Human-In-The-Loop);
• User interface realization, for the monitoring and configuration of the control parameters;
