Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL
Description The thesis activity is aimed at characterizing the surface wear of die-casting/die-forging molds through non-destructive optical measurement devices integrated on cobot arms. The student relying on the resources of the Mind4Lab metrology room of DIGEP will use advanced cobot measurement systems for the geometry and topography of the worn-out molds. The wear will be evaluated with numerical methods based on machine vision and correlated, through machine learning, with the wear modes characterized by electron microscopy.
