Description The thesis activity involves the investigation of the use of extremophilic microalgae for the treatment of industrial wastewater rich in hydrocarbons, furthermore the growth conditions are considered extreme given that the pH of the water is very low and the operating temperature exceeds 40 ° C. The work is the continuation of other experiences and aims to optimize a growth and maintenance protocol of one or more microalgal strains in these conditions. The activity will take place in the laboratories of the environmental sanitary engineering group and the student will have the opportunity to use analytical instrumentation and experimental setups.
