Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL
Description The candidate is required to design a PCB that can read the stem electrical impedance of living plants and develop the needed firmware to perform the measurement on a micro-controller embedded with a wireless module used to send data. This reading is performed in a completely digital way exploiting the attenuation that a signal undergoes when travelling through a resistive material. Another important goal is the minimization of the overall power consumption since the system will rely on renewable resources. In-vivo electrical stem impedance is a useful parameter widely employed to assess valuable information about crops’ water stress status and lower food production environmental footprint.
