Description The purpose of this experimental thesis is to use carbon-based materials (nanotubes, graphene and carbon fibers) for use as reinforcers in cement matrix composites. Carbon-based reinforcers
are used to improve both the mechanical properties and electrical conductivity of cement, this allows the preparation of a reinforced, tough cement that can be used for self-monitoring applications. The thesis student will have the opportunity to work side by side with qualified researchers who will help him/her grow in his/her career path by giving him/her the opportunity to work on innovative materials at the frontier of research.
