Description The thesis "Techno-economic analysis of offshore wind turbine farms" has the main objective of performing techno-economic estimation of the performance of offshore wind farms. For this purpose, models will be developed to quantify aerodynamic interactions between various turbines due to wake effects; various levels of fidelity will be investigated, to be implemented in optimization procedures (low fidelity) or final estimation. Indeed, the spatial distribution of turbines within the park will be optimized in relation to environmental conditions and resource availability. In addition, the thesis will provide for the application of cost functions to calculate the cost of energy. Finally, the tools produced will be implemented within a platform based on GIS technology.
