Description The aim of the proposed thesis is the development of a Matlab code for the evaluation of the presence of anomalies/defects through the analysis of optimal indicators that summarize the information content of the vibrational signals of the health state of the machine.
The activities to be carried out are:
1) analyze what is already available on the subject within the research group (articles, Matlab codes, methodology already developed, signals already acquired...)
2) enrich the bibliographic analysis regarding monitoring techniques by means of vibrational analysis of the health state of rotating machines
3) choose the optimal indicators for the application of interest
4) develop the Matlab code equipped with GUI
5) validate the developed methodology and the Matlab tool through the analysis of an experimental case from a test bench with industrial size bearings, available at the laboratory box of the research group
6) evaluate the sensitivity of the methodology with respect to the seriousness of the defect by analyzing the signals from the test bench
7) possible "restyling" of an existing Matlab code by adding the new elements developed to represent the internal dynamics of the bearing in more detail
