Description Digital Twins-DT) are an integral part of the enabling technologies for the Industry 4.0 paradigm. Digital twin is a digital representation of a physical object, process, service or environment that behaves and appears like its physical counterpart in the real world.
The thesis work will focus on the topic of developing Digital Twins for heterogeneous robotic systems, such as 6-axis collaborative manipulator robots and mobile robots.
Specifically, the candidate must develop/adopt 3D models and kinematics of robotic systems in a single virtual environment using CAD/3D modeling software, as well as develop integration interfaces with real world counterparts using (Python/C#/C++) programming languages programming.
Mainly, the candidate will work with collaborative robots (UR10e), with machining cells (ABB IRB 4400 industrial robot with electrospindle system) and with mobile robots (MiR100).

Required skills A candidate is expected to be familiar with CAD software (SolidWorks), and 3D modelling software (Unreal Engine/ Blender/ Unity), and programming languages (Python/C#/C++).
