Description The thesis project will focus on the implementation and experimental validation of two novel techniques for the output-only identification of the dynamic response of road bridges and viaducts, using vibration time series extracted from ambient vibration (AV) tests.
In particular, the two proposed techniques will be tested and validated on a large set of real case studies, currently under investigation by Politecnico di Torino and managed by the Turin municipality (città di Torino), the Turin Local Authority (Città Metropolitana di Torino), and the highway operator Autostrade per l’Italia (ASPI) in the framework of several ongoing national projects.
Required skills good knowledge of structural engineering skills, especially structural dynamics; knowledge at least of the basics of Matlab programming.
