Description In the realm of high-voltage electronics, having the capability to measure voltages in a safe and reliable way is a must. The need is to have probes capable to withstand high common-mode voltage and maintaining galvanic insulation between the measuring point and the scope interface.
The aim of this work is to design and prototype a differential voltage probe suitable for 1000V operation with 100MHz bandwidth suitable for wide band-gap device characterization. The student will design the probe using commercial components and will realize a prototype to test its actual behavior
Required skills Problem-solving capability
Good knowledge of analog electronics
Basic knowledge of SPICE simulators and their usage
