Description The thesis will be carried out at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche CNR-STIIMA, in Biella (BI). proteins extracted from insects using a water-based process will be blended with biomass-derived materials (e.g. starch) and plasticizers to obtain biobased plastics films for packaging. The morphology and the physico-chemical and mechanical properties of the obtained materials will be characterized by scanning electron microscopy, IR spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, etc.
