Description The quality of aluminium alloy ingots is very important for the performance of the products. Chemical composition and other factors have a great impact on ingot quality. A good quality raw material has been one of the most underestimated points in the industry and for this reason the 2A foundry has decided to classify the raw material on the basis of a quality standard.
This study is based on data collection and the construction of databases based on laboratory and process tests. The study will be carried out by comparing the chemical compositions of various sources of ingots and a final quality index will be proposed to create a reference for the quantification of the quality of the suppliers' ingots.
