Description Recycled aluminium generally contains higher levels of imperfections compared to primary aluminium. Imperfections include defect such as as intermetallics, porosity and oxides,.. that affects tensile properties and could possibly also affect physical properties without normally being considered as a defect that produced reject parts increase the per cent of part non conformity. Those imperfection can be originated from the melt or the casting process. The objective is to to increase knowledge about imperfections in recycled aluminium castings originating from alloying elements and the melt process.
