Description This study focuses on an overview of the challenges that remain in the secondary agri-food industry, with particular reference to meat and fruit processing. The analysis is not limited to transformation processes, but extends to the entire life cycle of products: from sourcing to distribution, disposal and recycling. Aspects such as defect generation, packaging, material recycling and logistics will be at the centre of the investigation, highlighting the complex relationships between quality and sustainability. The aim is to provide a holistic view of the current challenges and identify key areas for action to improve both quality and sustainability in the sector.
