Thesis type RESEARCH ORIENTED

Description The thesis aims to propose average values of "embodied emissions" for photovoltaic installations in Europe.
Innovative metrics must be proposed for the definition of homogeneous zones, within which default values can be applied for embodied emissions of photovoltaic systems. This work will require the identification of variables of interest, such as the range of solar irradiation as a function of the latitude of the EU27 countries, the aggregate and per capita electricity demand, etc.
Production estimates will need to be assesssed by using open source software.
"Embodied emissions" values will need to be defined for the photovoltaics currently installed in Europe.
The goal of the thesis is the definition of a set of embodied emissions values for FV applications, in EU27.

Required skills Required knowledge of Excel and data analysis software.
