Description This work concerns typical of Developed Countries, as are those belonging to the OCSE, where the main keywords are “energy”, “environment”, “climate”, and so on. It has been put into evidence the absence of other keywords related to the socio-economical field, that characterize mainly the situations of less developed countries, where other parameters like, for instance those related to the un-equal distribution of the per capita income, the un-availability of efficient infrastructures and services, the shortfall of livable conditions of dwellings, will require large additional investment and, at least in the initial phases, more energy consumption in a planning procedure that must also be sustainable.
The starting point of the research is the knowledge of the extremely large variety of the urban areas’ configurations in the different part of the World and the unviability of adopting standard recipes for driving their development towards a better and more sustainable use of the resource needed for a the every-day life of their citizens .
Notes For optimization purposes, an adapted version of the LP Bottom-up TIMES model can be be used. This version will include all the options needed for this type of analyses (post-carbon final objective).
