Description In the biomedical and industrial field there is an ever increasing demand of 3D acquisition systems able to digitize complex shapes (free form) with the aim of geometrically validate products or for morphological analysis. The objective is to integrate a 3D scanner based on a plenoptic camera (https://www.raytrix.de/produkte/#top) into a structure that allows its use in specific application fields (medical, morphological analysis of human body and face, 3D facial recognition, dimensional and geometrical control of manufactured parts, validation of assembled electronic parts, integration in a
portable system with absolute space positioning through an inertial platform) in order to build the 3D model of the object surface.
