BIM as a modern tool for the integrated design of factories. A real case.

Reference persons ANTONIO CARLIN

Description Building Information Modeling (BIM) is currently a rarely used method for the factories. This new design process, developed to optimize planning, construction and building management through the help of software, allows you to collect, combine and digitally link all relevant building data. The application of this new design technique, besides finding employment in the construction, offers countless benefits in the technical installations with implications also affecting facility management.
The aim of the thesis is to deepen the application of the BIM through direct contact with a modern Northern Italian engineering company (whose research is entrusted to the candidate) who has recently made use of such computer media, using them in a type application industrial (production plant), possibly made.
The candidate after a detailed analyse of the production plant as a whole will deepen the benefits of this new design approach and will propose a procedural process and guidelines for facilitating the implementation of this method in the case of designing factories.
