Description In this thesis, students will design and implement a Big Data management architecture using the latest Cloud virtualization technologies (e.g., Docker containers or Serverless computing) in support of the integration of several disjoint datasets; examples of data to integrate and query in a responsive fashion are geographical data, images collected by drones or satellites for agricolture and food prediction.
In particular, students will design and implement a Linux-based command line interface and a web-based graphical user interface to facilitate integration, normalization and sharing of currently disjoint datasets. Moreover, students will demonstrate the tool implemented and its effectiveness with a few research case studies.
The thesis is in collaboration with St. Louis University, USA (www.slu.edu), where the candidate is asked to spend some months working on the topic.
