Description The activity is focused on the development of an acoustic imaging system based on the used of "phased" transducers. The working principle is similar to RF antenna arrays: thanks to a proper combination of amplitudes and phases, an acoustic "beam shaping" effect can be produced, resulting from the overall interference of waves coming from each single transducer properly lcoated in space. The goal of the work consists in obtaining an acoustic scanning system aimed at food matrices inspection.
More specifically, the activity includes: (i) writing of a DAQ code for controlling and aquiring acoustic signals to/from transducers; (ii) setting up of a mechanical system for holding sample and probes.
