Description Multimedia data handling from robots (drones/rovers)In the context of the research activities of the Internet Media Group in collaboration with the PIC4SeR center (https://pic4ser.polito.it), we are looking for master thesis students interested in studying and implementing systems that can efficiently handle multimedia data produced by drones and rovers, to be ￼stored and processed in a public cloud system via API or microservices. For instance, on the cloud side it could be interesting to explore coding optimization procedures for long term data storage, or object/element recognition using publicly available algorithms. It is also possible to experiment in real scenarios with actual robots. The activity can be carried out without being physically present on a day-to-day basis at the Politecnico, except when actual experiments with robots needs to be carried out.
Required skills Basic understanding of cloud services, Basic knowledge of multimedia data management (images, videos)
