Description The thesis is based on research tasks related to DCLL blanket design for DEMO fusion reactor. The thesis includes the investigation on the state of the art research on flow channel insert (FCI) design. An OpenFOAM code modification is foreseen, to include the found FCI characteristics to a 2D solver. The deformations will be implemented in the geometry of the case, taking into account the highest temperature regions expected in the poloidal channels. The simulations will be then performed, with particular reference to sensitivity analysis on flow conditions and geometry.
