Thesis type EXPERIMENTAL

Description The thesis consists in collecting and analyzing data from sensors installed at Politecnico, capable of detecting the transit of people through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth signals generated by their smartphones. In a first phase, the thesis will require to determine the perimeter of the detection carried out by the sensors and the methods of this detection. Subsequently we will proceed to the analysis of large volumes of data returned by the sensors, with the aim of identifying possible mechanisms for automatic identification of the type of mobility (pedestrian, bicycle, car) and other statistics on the flow of people. The thesis is carried out as part of a European project in which Politecnico is a partner together with the Municipality of Turin and TIM.

Required skills Programming languages: C and Python (optional). Basic data analysis skills.
