Description During the thesis, with the help of the supervisor and of the doctoral students in the research group, a simple software interface will be developed for the design of treatment schemes in the field of "produced water" treatment (industrial wastewater from the extractive industry; these are the most contaminated waters in the world, for which the legislation now requires treatment for reuse). Depending on the characteristics of the incoming water and of the treatment objectives, the interface will help workers to outline a series of treatments that effectively remove the various contaminants without cross- media effects. These are qualitative or semi-quantitative assessments based on Best Available Techniques and on the estblished knowledge of the research group; it is not a question of quantitative design of the processes.
