Descrizione The aim of this thesis is to develop VR/AR based solutions for the teaching of the General Relativity. The adopted approach is based on the simple idea to import in our three- dimensional flat space adjacent blocks of space directly taken from the Black Hole (BH) surroundings. While these blocks do perfectly fill the curved space around the gravitational source, when exported in our flat space they leave empty spaces between contiguous faces or tend to overlap. The goal of the thesis is the building of a VR/AR environment allowing the learner to explore how the BH blocks join together when embedded in our 3D space. The VR experience should also bring the learner to the measurement of geometric quantities like the overlapping or empty angles among the faces of the blocks. This will lead to a quantitative evaluation of the spatial curvature components of a BH and even (through the Einstein Field Equation) to the evaluation of the matter density in the explored region. Thesis will be developed in collaboration with an expert in Physics Education Research from the Department of Applied Science and Technology (DISAT) of Politecnico di Torino.
