Description Static mixing of gaseous mixtures is an indispensable process for the generation of dynamic standards of low and very low concentration VOCs (1-100 ppb). The new frontier of transportable systems makes it necessary to minimize the dimensions of the mixers while ensuring the complete mixing of the streams.
The main problem is linked to the difference in the volumetric flow rates, it is in fact the dispersion of a mixture of VOCs in the air.
The evaluation of the actual mixing is generally carried out through simulation in CFD, the simulations must be experimentally validated.
The thesis aims to validate the models and evaluate the uncertainty associated with them.
