Thesis type RESEARCH, INNOVATIVE

Description The next generation of fusion machines will use a breeding blanket (BB) to produce the Tritium fuel, which needs to be extracted from the breeder. A mock-up of a tritium-extraction system from the PbLi, based on the Permeator-Against-Vacuum Technique is under installation at the ENEA, Brasimone premises. After the mock-up tests, a huge amount of experimental data will be available for the validation and if needed, further development of the numerical models capable to describe the physical behaviour of the system , with special attention to the aspects related to the heat transfer and hydrogen-isotopes diffusion.
