Thesis type SPERIMENTALE
Description Experimental thesis to be developed in collaboration with RAI and University of Turin, Dept. of Surgical Sciences. The thesis goal is to implement and validate a Transfer Function to be applied to the audio signal produced by flat-screen TV sets, in order to improve the speech intelligibility for non-mother-tongue young subjects and presbioacoustic elderly subjects. The thesis will be carried out at the Molinette Hospital in Torino and in the Audio Space Lab of the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Torino, in collaboration with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications.
Required skills The required skills include programming in Matlab and other languages and knowledge of Audio concepts, with particular reference to speech intelligibility.
