Description Preparation of a System for Automated Visual Inspections to perform quality control by machine-vision. This thesis activity is aimed at preparing an RGB camera-based image acquisition system for quality control. Nowadays, manufacturing industry is increasingly exploiting automated visual inspection methods. These exploit artificial intelligence and machine-vision methods to identify product defects. The candidate will be expected to: i) review state-of-the-art techniques currently available in the literature and in the market, identifying technologies and analysis methodologies, ii) set up an RGB camera-based acquisition system at the DIGEP quality laboratory, iii) test the system through application on simple case studies.
