Description The aim of the study is to analyse the stability conditions of natural slopes affected by the construction of detention basins in high mountain areas by means of discontinuous numerical models. Even if they temporarily store volumes of water for flood control, such works can modify the hydraulic regime influencing the stability conditions of the surrounding slopes. Numerical modelling, carried out along different sections, will see the application and the variation of hydraulic loads (in order to simulate different volumes of stored water) to verify the consequences on the stability conditions.
