Description The construction of a road along a narrow Alpine valley has caused stability problems (from the detachment of small block to the instabilization of big volumes of rock) that have led to the closure of the road to the vehicles traffic. The study aims to provide information on the rock slopes characterization and the possible detachment kinematics, indicating the stability conditions and the volumes involved and as weel as the possible works necessary for risk mitigation. All this is done with innovative techniques (e.g. drone survey), interpretation with calculation codes, laboratory tests and applications of numerical models.
