Calibration of hydrological models taking into account uncertainty

Description Starting from the method proposed by Fenicia et al. (2018, http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/2017WR021616) we want to evaluate the uncertainty associated with the calibration of a hydrological model to the daily flow data of one or more Piedmontese rivers.
The work aims to answer the following questions:
- which parameters of the hydrological model can be robustly calibrated from existing information?
- which data (and data characteristics) determine a reduction in the uncertainty of the model?
The student's propensity / availability for programming is required. Numerical software R will be used (which includes the hydrological model and the method used in Fenicia et al., 2018).
