Thesis type NUMERICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL
Description After the experimental characterization of the mechanical properties of a FHR device under non-symmetric loading conditions, the student will be asked to set-up a numerical model of the device and use it in finite element analysis on a THUMS HBM undergoing an oblique crash pulse within a motorsport compartment.
Optimization of the layup sequence of the device in order to minimize the occupant’s neck loads under such scenario.
