Development of simplified vehicle models for barrier impact

Description The safety level of barriers can be evaluated through finite element simulations avoiding expensive experimental tests. In these cases, the vehicle model has to be simple enough not to weight down the simulation time, but it has to contain the main properties of it. These vehicle models are not easy to find and they have to be specially developed. In this overview, the goal of the thesis is to develop a finite element model of a generic vehicle to be used for barrier impact simulations, starting from freely available models.
