Description The future of computing is Quantum.
Quantum Computers (QC) will be able to solve certain problems exponentially faster than the classical counterpart.
Quantum Processing Units (QPU) may be physically realized in a plethora of different technologies, each of which has its own pros and cons (speed, connectivity, etc.).
The flow of Quantum Computing starts from the definition of a Quantum Circuit at the logic level. This Quantum Circuit is compiled to the actual quantum architectures depening on the properties of the QPU.
Moreover, QPUs are affected by inherent noise, given by the tecnology itself, and by external noise, given by radiation.
Such noise issues need to be tackled by novel reliability techniques to prevent QC to scale.
Our research group has multiple interests in the reliability domain for quantum computers, related to all components of the stack (simulation, compilation/transpilation, verification, noise-resilience, etc.)
